RMG 23: Summer Rental (1985)

July 6, 2016

In this episode, the Retro Movie Geek crew are geeking out over

  • special guest (and original Forgotten Flix co-host) Jason!
  • John Candy
  • “Do these look real to you?”
  • movie locations
  • barnacle-shaving montages
  • and much, much more!

Synopsis: Jack Chester, an over-worked air-traffic controller, almost causes a disaster at work and is basically forced, by his employer, to take a vacation. The Chester family rents a beach house in Florida and sets off on, what they think is going to be, a nice relaxing vacation. At first everything actually looks ok, but then things takes a turn for the worst… and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse… it does! The house is a disgrace, the local celebrity is a douche, the stream of beach goers trampling through their property, seems endless, and Jack injures his leg, but… what could have turned into a vacation from hell, actually brings the family closer to each other and turns out great in the end! Oh, and let’s not forget about Scully, and his pirate friends! ………………………………………………………………………………………………….
