That’s right folks! Thursday night I’ll be sitting back with the Missus and checking out a motion picture I haven’t seen since I was a wee lad, Three O’Clock High starring Casey Siemaszko! Mr. Siemaszko is a great actor who you may remember from Young Guns, Storm of the Century, or Stand By Me. He’s one of those actors that you might not recognize by name (although his name is pretty unforgettable!), but when you see him on screen you think, “Oh yeah! I know that guy!” He was most recently seen in the new show The Event on NBC.
Well, he’s fantastic in Three O’Clock High where he plays Jerry Mitchell, a nerdy high-schooler who works for the school paper. He’s assigned to write a piece about the new “kid” in school, Buddy Revell (played by the always menacing Richard Tyson, who you might remember from Kindergarten Cop), he makes the MASSIVE mistake of innocently touching Buddy, who does NOT like to be touched. When, Buddy tells Jerry they are going to fight at 3 o’clock, Jerry spends the movie’s duration trying to escape his impending doom. As I remember it, it’s a fun, slightly dark comedic romp through an 80s high school. We’ll have to see if my memory’s correct or if this movie’s more like serving time in detention.
Until next time, remember, a flick is only forgotten if you’re not talking about it!
