In this episode of The Forgotten Flix Podcast, we’re Romancing the Stone (1984) with Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner!

In this action/adventure/romance directed by Robert (Back to the Future) Zemeckis, turner plays Joan Wilder, a romance novelist who takes off for Colombia to save her kidnapped sister.

The antiquities smugglers who have Joan’s sister (one of them played by the diminutive-in-height-only Danny Devito) want a map that Joan’s brother-in-law mailed to her before he was murdered. The map leads to El Corazon, an emerald worth millions.

Once in Colombia, Joan’s pursued by Colonel Zolo (aka The Butcher), the leader of a corrupt military faction and the man responsible for the murder of Joan’s brother-in-law. After Zolo tries to kill her, Joan meets Jack Colton, a scruffy ne’er-do-well who agrees to act as Joan’s guide through the South American jungle.
