RMG 06: Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid (1982)

February 10, 2016

In this episode, the Retro Movie Geek crew with special guest Gamma Dev from the Throwback Network are geeking out over

  • classic old movies
  • early Steve Martin
  • staying on topic for almost a full hour
  • tangents galore
  • and more!

Rigby Reardon (played by Steve Martin) is a private investigator who’s experiencing a bit of a lull in business… in fact, it’s so slow that, when we first see Rigby, he’s re-reading old newspapers! There’s a knock on the door and when he opens it, Juliet Forrest (played by a stunningly beautiful Rachel Ward) literally faints into his life! When she comes to, after Rigby adjusts her breasts, she tells him that she thinks her father has been murdered, and wants him to look into it.

This is the start of a string of events that involves violent thugs, classy dames, Phillip Marlowe, cheese, Nazis, bullet-sucking, Rigby’s pajamas, and a whole lot of glorious black and white!
