October 27, 2021

In this episode, the Retro Movie Geek crew is joined by Ashley Caldwell, from the Kill the Dead podcast (find more from Ash HERE and HERE), and they’re geeking out over Blacula (1972) and

  • Dracula being a racist pig
  • William Marshall’s gravitas
  • Dr. Gordon
  • the scary cab lady
  • and much, much more!

Synopsis:

”I curse you with my name – you will be BLACULA, a vampire like myself. A living fiend.” In 1815 the African Prince Mamuwalde is cursed by Dracula and sealed in a coffin doomed to be tortured by an unquenchable lust for blood. Until today!

Billy and Bobby, two decorators, purchase Blacula’s coffin along with several other antiques from Castle Dracula. While inspecting the merchandise, they unwittingly release Blacula and become his first victims.

At the decorators’ funeral, Blacula spots Bobby’s friend Tina and is instantly taken by her striking resemblance to his beloved wife, Luva, who was killed by Count Dracula. From that moment on Blacula lives only to possess Tina.

But time is running out. Blacula’s insatiable thirst for blood has left a trail of victims. Will Tina be another victim of the terrorizing BLACULA?!
