Synopsis:

Accidentally blinded by her mother Rose Ann at the age of five, Selina spends the next 13 years sheltered and confined to their tiny apartment.

One day at the park, she meets a kindly gentleman, Gordon, who opens her up to the world around her. But when Rose Ann learns of their relationship, she forbids Selina to see him because he is black.
