Six Degrees Movie Game #6

No reference to last week’s game.  Why?  Have your answers disappointed the Quizmaster to the point that he has gone insane and is plotting some ridiculous horror movie revenge plot?

Perhaps.

But, I’m not really sure who this Quizmaster is and why he thinks his name should be written as one word.  I’m just on vacation, so I wrote this last week.

But in honor of the ingenious Quizmaster’s (Quiz Master’s) crafty plot, let’s go with some guys that really knew how to orchestrate twists and turns.  Take us from Alfred Hitchcock to Sydney Pollack, two directors who sometimes stepped in front of the camera.

  1. This made my head hurt!! Ok, working on the basis that Hitch cameoed in all his films, he was in North by Northwest with Cary Grant, who was in Father Goose with Leslie Caron, who appeared in Chocolat with Johnny Depp, who was in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape with Juliette Lewis, who was Jessica Lange’s daughter in Cape Fear, who was in the most excellent Tootsie with Sydney Pollack!

  2. Mags, that’s most impressive! Very nice connection! 🙂

  3. This was a tough one!

Hitch had a cameo in THE BIRDS, which co-starred Rod Taylor. Taylor was in THE VIPs with Maggie Smith, and Smith was one of the many performers in GOSFORD PARK, as was Jeremy Northam, who was also in 2007’s THE INVASION with Nicole Kidman. Kidman co-starred with Pollack in Kubrick’s last film, EYES WIDE SHUT.

I’m betting there’s a much simpler connection than that, but this is what I’m going with.

    • Hi Dave! Wow, very nicely played. I’ve been racking my brain on this one and that’s definitely more than I came up with! 🙂
